Message of the week : Fear has invaded every part of our being to such an extend that we no longer know what life without fear would be like. There never seems to be a totally fear-free moment and fear had victimised and controlled us. - Henri Nouwen Fear will affect our decisions. Fear is always around us and we are always living in fear. We fear that the people around whether will they harm us; we fear that the one we love will leave us and go; we fear that one day everything will change; we fear that the ones we love will be gone and forever; we fear that we will not be able to take up new challenges; we fear that we will fail; in sense that we are fearing everything that has the possibility to happen. These fear will thus affects us in making decisions. Sometimes people are too free to fear about things that will never happen where this fears are actually redundant and they struggles about making decisions due to these fears for no reason. There is this 成语 that can describe these kind of people and that is :纪人忧天. We as humans tends to be unable face failures and afraid that whatever they have questioned and feared will tun into reality. As times goes and when the country is getting more and more developed they tends to have the following questions in mind : -How will the people look at us? -Will they approve what we are doing? -Do they think tha same way? -Are we out of the trend and society? with reference to bible verse( Matthew 25:14-30) People on this Earth tends to equalise fear with failure ( fear = failure) and this will thus lead the people to bury their talents and potential behind fear as they fear to fail and this affects the mindset of people today. Next, it will also affects the relationship between the people around you, God and most importantly yourself. We will thus think that the people around think low of you and in turns causing you to have low self-essteem. The relationship with God, we humns that re imperfect tends to push the responsibility to the people and most of all God. This is also a form of fear, a fear of unable to face the consequences.The relationship with ourselves, as times passes we will get to be unable to face ourselves and think low of ourselves and slowly have no internal measures of self-essteem and resulting yourself to lose faith in everything including the very basic thing - to live. The other factor is that, we have been focusing on the wrong thing. As christians we should not fear about anything except His words and commanments and Him. If we do fear, it is because we have focus on the wrong thing, this also shows that we had actually shifted our focus on God to the problems and people that will affects us and make us fear. Thus resulting us to lose grip on God and fall into the lies of Satan. We should not fear for God had made his promise upon us that He will be with us everytime and forever. There is no fear when we have God's love and promises. The key to eliminate fear is love and especially God's love. Do we ever ask ourselves this question : -How mature and perfect is our love compared to God's love for us? ( Ref. John 15 : 4-11) When God is in us and living within our heart there are three factors : 1) we will therefore have greater intimacy with God and thus have no fear to anything and everything. 2)God's promise will allow us to have a fruiful life. Having a productive life does not = having a fruitful life. By having a productive life we are just having the name; status; and wealth upon and given from this world but whereas having a fruitful life is a life that needs God to make the decisions and have the courage to confess to everyone about their imperfectness. These people also know how to give graditute and having a quality life instead of a quantity life. 3)With His promises, we will have a gain in estatic life with joy and blessing and without fear but confidence and energy. In conclusion of today's message is that we should be optimistic and when we live, there is not a need to care about how others think and comment about you but it is how God looks and comments about us. With God there is nothing to fear about and a question that we should always ask oursleves : -Do we live under the eyes of the people or under the eyes of the one of had created us? Lastly something to encourage: When there is fear, this is because we had forgotten about the presence of God. Gpd has promised us that if we were to live in Him and He will be in us.
